Terms of Purchase
I want you to feel clear about what you're purchasing before we work together.
These Terms of Purchase explain what you can expect when purchasing a Functional Herbology service, what is and isn't included, how appointments and cancellations work, and the responsibilities we each have when working together.
Please read them before purchasing. If anything is unclear, you're very welcome to contact me before you book.

1. About Functional Herbology
Functional Herbology provides personalised functional health, nutrition, herbal and lifestyle support within the scope of the service you purchase.
My services are not a substitute for medical diagnosis, emergency medical care or treatment from your GP or other appropriately qualified medical professional. I do not advise you to discontinue prescribed medication or medical treatment without discussing this with the prescribing clinician.
The information and recommendations provided are based on the information available to me at the time. Health is individual and outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Where symptoms or information arise that I believe require medical investigation or fall outside the scope of the service purchased, I may recommend that you seek appropriate medical care.
2. Health services and scope
My work is designed to help you understand your health more fully and, where appropriate, provide personalised nutritional, herbal and lifestyle support.
Functional Herbology does not provide emergency medical care and my services are not a substitute for medical diagnosis or necessary medical treatment from your GP, consultant or another appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
I will not advise you to stop or alter prescribed medication without involving the appropriate prescribing clinician.
If information arises during our work together that I believe requires medical investigation or falls outside my professional scope, I may recommend that you seek appropriate medical care before or alongside our work.
3. Your individual service
Different Functional Herbology services include different levels of assessment, practitioner time and ongoing support.
What is included in your purchase is what is specifically described on the relevant sales or booking page.
Please read that information carefully before purchasing. Additional consultations, laboratory testing, herbal medicines, supplements or ongoing support are not included unless they are specifically stated as part of the service.

4. Health outcomes
Health is individual and no particular outcome can be guaranteed.
Recommendations are based on the information available to me at the time, together with my professional assessment and the scope of the service you have purchased.
Working together requires your active participation. You remain responsible for your own health decisions, for providing accurate and relevant information and for seeking medical advice where appropriate.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights. Services supplied to consumers must, among other things, be performed with reasonable care and skill.
5. Functional and laboratory testing
Where appropriate, I may recommend functional or laboratory testing if I believe it could provide useful additional information.
Unless a test is expressly stated as being included in the service you purchase, testing is optional and charged separately.
Functional testing is intended to provide information that may help guide my work with you. It should not be regarded as a replacement for diagnostic testing or medical investigation where these are required.
Where I believe conventional medical investigation would be more appropriate, I may recommend that you speak to your GP or another healthcare professional.
6. Herbal medicines and supplements
Herbal medicines and nutritional supplements may be recommended where appropriate to the service purchased and your individual circumstances.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the cost of supplements, herbal prescriptions and repeat prescriptions is separate from the price of the service.
Please tell me about all medications, supplements, allergies, diagnosed conditions, pregnancy or breastfeeding, planned surgery and other relevant changes in your health so that these can be taken into consideration.
7. Appointments, cancellations and rescheduling
Please give as much notice as possible if you need to change an appointment.
Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, may be charged at the full appointment fee to reflect the time reserved for you.
Where sufficient notice is given, appointments can normally be rescheduled.
Where an appointment is cancelled at short notice or missed, a charge may apply to reflect the appointment time reserved and any reasonable loss incurred. I will always apply cancellation terms fairly and proportionately.
8. Online purchases and your right to cancel
When you purchase a service online, you may have a statutory right to cancel your contract within 14 days, subject to the applicable consumer legislation.
If you ask for your service to begin within that 14-day period, you may be asked to expressly request that Functional Herbology begins providing the service before the cancellation period has ended.
If you subsequently cancel after part of the service has already been provided, you may be required to pay a reasonable amount for the service already supplied.
Where a service has been fully performed within the cancellation period following your express request to begin and your acknowledgement that the right to cancel will be lost once the service is fully performed, your statutory cancellation right may end at that point.
9. Payment
Prices and payment arrangements are shown before purchase.
Where a service is offered using a payment plan, you are committing to the full purchase rather than paying separately for each appointment, unless the service description expressly states otherwise.
If you experience a problem with a payment, please contact me as soon as possible.
Nothing in these terms removes any refund, cancellation or other rights you have under applicable consumer law.
10. Between-session contact
The amount of contact and support available between appointments varies between Functional Herbology services.
Please refer to the description of the service you have purchased for details of what is included.
Where between-session support is not expressly included, messages requiring clinical assessment, new recommendations or significant practitioner time may need to be addressed during your next appointment or through an additional consultation.
11. Your responsibilities
To enable me to work with you safely and effectively, please provide information that is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
Please let me know about significant changes in your health, diagnoses, medication, pregnancy, investigations or treatment during our work together.
You remain responsible for deciding whether to follow any recommendations made and for seeking appropriate medical care where necessary.
12. If I need to change or cancel an appointment
Occasionally illness, emergency or circumstances outside my reasonable control may mean that I need to rearrange an appointment.
If this happens, I will give you as much notice as reasonably possible and offer an alternative appointment.
If I am unable to provide a paid service and a suitable alternative cannot be arranged, you will receive an appropriate refund for the part of the service I am unable to provide.
13. Confidentiality and privacy
Your personal and health information will be handled confidentially and in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.
Please see the Functional Herbology Privacy Policy for further information about how your personal data is collected, stored and used.
14. Resources and intellectual property
Any guides, handouts, videos, protocols, educational materials or other resources supplied as part of your purchase are for your personal use unless otherwise stated.
They may not be reproduced, shared publicly, sold, taught or distributed without permission.
15. Concerns or complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of a Functional Herbology service, please contact me in the first instance so that I have the opportunity to understand the issue and, where possible, resolve it fairly.

Specific Terms: Decode Your Bloat
Decode Your Bloat is a short, focused 1:1 health-mapping service.
It is designed to help you make sense of your digestive symptoms, explore relevant patterns and connections in your health story, and identify areas that may be worth investigating or addressing next.
Using the same Functional Medicine thinking that underpins my wider clinical work, we may consider your digestive symptoms alongside relevant aspects of your health history, hormones, stress, sleep, lifestyle, previous illness, medication and other factors.
What Decode Your Bloat includes
Your purchase includes the elements specifically described on the Decode Your Bloat sales page at the time you book, including your pre-session information, focused 1:1 mapping session and personalised Decode Map/summary where stated.
What Decode Your Bloat does not include
Decode Your Bloat is not a comprehensive Functional Medicine consultation, medical diagnosis or ongoing treatment programme.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, it does not include:

a comprehensive personalised treatment protocol

ongoing practitioner or messaging support
-
laboratory or functional testing
-
herbal medicines or supplements
-
subsequent consultations.
You may leave the session with suggestions for a small number of sensible areas to explore independently and, where appropriate, recommendations for further investigation or testing.
If I believe your situation would benefit from more comprehensive assessment or ongoing support, I may explain the options available. There is no obligation to purchase further services from Functional Herbology.
Between-session support
Decode Your Bloat does not include ongoing clinical support after the session.
If you subsequently need further individual assessment, interpretation or recommendations, an appropriate follow-up service or programme may be required.
Specific Terms: Feel Like Yourself Again
Feel Like Yourself Again is Functional Herbology's more comprehensive 1:1 programme, designed for clients who want deeper investigation and ongoing personalised support.
The programme may include detailed health-history assessment, functional testing, interpretation of results, personalised nutritional, herbal and lifestyle recommendations, consultations and practitioner support, according to the package described on the sales page at the time of purchase.
Testing
Where a particular laboratory test is stated as being included in your programme, that test forms part of your purchase.
Additional testing is not included unless expressly stated and will only be recommended where I believe it may be useful.
Personalised recommendations
Recommendations may evolve during the programme in response to your symptoms, test results, progress and other relevant information.
This is part of an individualised process and does not mean that a particular result or outcome can be guaranteed.
Between-session support
Feel Like Yourself Again includes the level of between-session support described on the sales page or programme information at the time you purchase.
Messaging is intended to support the work we are already undertaking together. It is not an emergency service or a substitute for an additional consultation where a new or complex clinical issue requires fuller assessment.
Questions requiring substantial assessment or a significant change in approach may be held for your next consultation or require an additional appointment.
Programme participation
You will get the most from the programme by completing agreed forms/testing, attending scheduled consultations and letting me know about relevant changes in your health.
If you choose not to complete a particular recommendation or test, that is your decision. We can discuss what this means for the work we're able to do together.

By purchasing a Functional Herbology service, you confirm that you have had the opportunity to read these Terms of Purchase and agree to the terms applicable to the service you have chosen.
